Agency Platform II Training | The Basics

This is the first session of a two-part training designed to introduce beginners to the Agency Platform, a custom Drupal distribution. In this session, we will cover essential topics that lay the foundation for working with the platform. Attendees will learn:

  • Navigating and utilizing the admin toolbar
  • Creating and managing content types
  • Understanding block types and how to implement them
  • An introduction to Layout Builder for page design

This training is ideal for both new users and those looking to brush up on their skills. By learning or revisiting the foundational elements of the Agency Platform, participants will gain a solid understanding of the basics, setting them up for more advanced topics in the next training session.

Agency Platform II Training | Advanced

This is the second session of a two-part training series. This session is designed to help experienced users of the Agency Platform get more out of their website. This session is a hands on demo and Q&A session. Topics discussed change each meeting and are geared toward specific challenges or design updates participants are wanting to implement. Examples of topics attendees will learn include:

  • Creating Layouts
  • Custom Blocks
  • Responsive Design
  • Getting Creative

This training is ideal for users looking to take advantage of the powerful features the platform offers. 

Accessibility Overview: Using Optimize (formerly Monsido)

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve website accessibility compliance, this training provides a demo of the Aqua Optimize compliance tool. 

  • During this session we will cover: 
  • Overview of Acquia Optimize (formerly Monsido) scanning tool
  • Accessibility vs. Accessibility Score 
  • Understanding your accessibility score 
  • Highlight items requiring manual review 
  • Discuss best practices for making accessibility improvements

Guidelines for Custom Functionality

Policy

The Agency Platform is highly customizable using its base modules and standard functionality. Agency Platform websites are built using a custom Drupal distribution (Agency Platform I and Agency Platform II) and hosted in Pantheon. However, we understand that there are instances where agencies would like to expand the functionality of their site with additional software, modules or other features which are not standard in our distribution.

Policy

The Digital Government team has reviewed the current state of the agency platform, security concerns, and the costs of maintaining and supporting the platform. In order to continue offering the best possible service and control costs, we require all users granted site administrator rights on a live website or access to the pantheon container for their website(s) to sign the below administrator agreement.
